D and I went to David's Bridal to go try on a few wedding dresses. This place is like the super stop shop for brides from dresses, shoes, tiaras, clutch purses and whatever random thing a bride might be enticed to by.
I tried on a few dresses of different styles to see what I like and what looks good on me. Note, what you like and what looks good on you are not necessarily the same thing, so I needed to go try some on because I needed a good reality check. I try strapless, small cap sleeves, train/no train, halter top. I'll spare the details, just the highlights and some thoughts.
- There is no way I can wear a strapless dress without suffocating. Since I have no chest to hold said dress up, they'd have to sew it so tight on my body that the great pressure from simply trying to breathe will provide enough hydrolics to hold it up.
- One can have too much shiny. One can have too much lace. One can be too poofy.
- $200 for a comb and cloth, known as a veil. $150 for a tiara. Both of which I could make for $20 with a visit to Michael's craft store and a glue gun. Can we say "smoking crack?"
- I don't know how much those slippers with slight 2 inch heel cost, but I would pay it. Cuz, dang, comfortable heels to wear an entire day are priceless.
- Everyone tries on a tiara and veil, even if they're not the ones getting married.
