whew!
I don't know if I should wipe the sweat off my forehead over the dramatics or dry up my tears at how touching the Pamanhikan celebration was. But, I'll let the folks who attended, speak before I say anything. Right now, I'm just going to enjoy the moment.
I'll say one thing. Eileen Tabios was quite superb as the SO's representative. Tuhan, representing my family, was "on", and few can match the wits and keep their composure, grace, and eloquence as Eileen did in front of such a presence.
My favorite lines of the evening:
(after a metal belt of bells was presented)
Tuhan: Did you know that the souls of our people are in the sounds of those bells?
Eileen: Well, then, let me do some more ringing.
