gotta love Oakland

Spent an hour strolling around the streets of downtown Oakland. However this afternoon, there was a power outage that took out several city blocks including city hall. It looked like it went from Clay Street to Webster, from 17th to 11th. No street lights, fire engines blaring, police car sirens screaming right after them, a news crew helicopter hovering overhead. I went through an exit door to get out of my building, then I had to hope that the power comes back on because I had no other way into the building after I had left all my stuff there. They eventually got the power back on.

A couple hours later, I hear that the police blew up a suspicious package at the federal building. Never a dull day in Oakland.
