pecking order

Year of the Rooster is quite the hen pecked year. The year stresses an emphasis on details, details, details, to look at things closer, to stay close to home. No kidding. I am amidst a pile of lists and budgets.

Went bridesmaids dress shopping. Saw some dresses that could be posted here. Still need one more bridesmaid's dress and a flowergirl's dress. Hopefully the Best Woman picked up her Barong Tagalog. Got to email mom about the arras. Got to pay bills tomorrow. 80 RSVPs so far, mostly friends, which means I'll be harassing family next month. Bought the cake serving set with lovely blue handles. Bridal shower and favor making party at the end of the month. Gads, it's August!

Evening out my tan during kali classes Sunday morning. Getting the hits in now before a month long hiatus. I'll still be teaching, just can't get too hands on for a bit. If you see me list elbow length gloves at the shopping list you'll know why.

I have to start working on our wedding video, the one we'll play during the reception. I have the music tracks layed out and the video titles. Just have to scan photos.

Tried the Bealieu Coastal Chardonnay from the wine list. Slightly creamy. Some vanilla. A bit of fruit. A decent Chardonnay, but nothing that spectacular. Probably will be generally amicable to most people.

Got a call today about Filipino American Historical Society Conference in Hawaii next year. Nice location, but my life doesn't really exist past October at this point.

Last week was feeling hen pecked. Did some laundry and put away the luggage from the LA trip to feel I'm managing better. Swamped at work as well but setting aside time to chat with a summer school class on Wednesday about Pinoy Poetics with Jean.
