looking towards the day after
Now with the wedding only 8 days away, I feel like I can start to envision my life after the countdown, the count-up as it were. Counting up to the various anniversaries and milestones to come.
May head to Monterrey for a few days early November for a work conference. Have to figure out how to consolidate households. Discussed finances post-wedding. Calculating how many vacation days we need to go to Paris and maybe Madrid next year. Planning to wait a year before having kids (I'd like to drink the wine in Paris), but we're sure the year waiting will pass quite quickly as this past year has. Life always seems to speed up as we go along.
Visited the twins tonight. They've both gained a pound each. They both sleep slightly upright cushioned on their bed bumpers. They don't like lying flat at all. Their new ate, the 4 year old, seems very happy with them. She goes into their room first thing in the morning to look at them. She likes to kiss each of them on the head. We're not sure where she learned that. She does it to cats and dogs, basically anything she thinks is smaller than her. Though they have to keep her from kissing too much, the tiwns still have some soft spots on their heads.
The soon-to-be-hubby still refuses to hold them, though he tucked them in a bit. We keep telling him it's easy to hold them now, they don't do anything, no fussing, nothing. He says he'll do it when they're older, like 5 years old (though by that time, we might have had a couple ourselves). As we leave he tells his sister than one day he'll come over and babysit the three kids so they can go out to dinner. She seems doubtful, she remembers how hard one kid was for him, but three? I tell her, oh, now that he's going to be married, every time he says "I'm going to..." there's an implied "we".
The new adventure awaits...
