BCS and the new math
It'd be interesting to see the calculations used in the BCS. Of course there's no doubt that USC and Texas should see each other in the Rose Bowl. But come on, no love for Oregon with a 10-1 overall record in what is becoming one of the toughest leagues in the country. And Notre Dame gets a bowl bid? Is somewhere in the calculations the estimated number of fans of a team, no matter how mediocre they might be?
Cal is still playing a bowl in Las Vegas, but instead of the Insight Bowl which would have been a great way to celebrate my birthday, it's on the 22nd at the Las Vegas Bowl, where I'd need to take an addition two days off from work just to get to. I'm just going to have to do my "Go Bears!" yell from a sportbar that night.
