macworld

Hiked for 2 hours around Macworld exhibits. Every other booth is selling some iPod accessory or cover. The rest is a mix of stuff: printers, digital cams. Microsoft has the 2nd largest booth next to Apple's main one.

And oooh the new MacBook. I couldn't test anything out to see how fast it really is. But the best physical change to it: magnet connected power plug, so that when you trip over your powercord, it won't drag your laptop crashing to the ground! They still have a couple of kinks to work out, like having it sleep when you close it up when it's still on. I killed one of them when I closed the lid which caused it to power off. Um, they'll have that fixed before they ship in February. Which shows how much Apple really needs to do to rework their line to the new intel. I wonder how they're going to remake the power desktop line.

Geekiest stuff there includes backpacks and jackets that have buttons built into them to control your ipod in your pocket or bag. These are soft buttons that you don't know are there except for a faint stitched outline on the cloth. The other geeky thing is a television visor. You put on this visor like Geordie on Star Trek to watch tv.

And indeed I saw the Kitty nano cover that Sister Mary found on the web.
