March 8, 7 PM Poetry and Song: International Women’s Day Celebration featuring four incredible women: Michelle Bautista, Evelie Delfino Sáles Posch, Janet Stickmon, and Annabelle Udo.

Michelle Bautista is a Bay Area poet, performer, and Filipino martial arts teacher.  She is currently working on a poetry manuscript, currently titled, "Blade" based on her essay, "Kali Poetics" in Pinoy Poetics (2004) to be published end of this year.  She is a recent newlywed working on married bliss.

Evelie Delfino Sáles Posch is a singer/songwriter blending the many musical traditions she grew up with in Europe, the US and the Philippines. She was recognized by Ver Enriquez as a Babaylan priestess/shaman/enChantress and healer. She founded the Babaylan Emerging: Apprenticeship and Mentoring Program for women and girls to develop self-empowerment and spiritual growth.

Janet Stickmon is a teacher, writer, and spoken word artist whose work has influenced hundreds of adolescents and adults over the last ten years. She holds a Masters of the Arts Degree in Religion and Society from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley and is now working on a Masters of the Arts Degree in Ethnic Studies at San Francisco State University. She currently lives in Oakland, CA with her husband, writer and performer, Shawn Taylor and teaches at a high school in Richmond, CA.

Annabelle Udo is a San Francisco-based spoken word artist and freelance writer.Her additional work includes freelance marketing/publicity and events production for the Kaleo Cafe (San Francisco) and the Aloha Pumehana 'O Polynesia (APOP) Hawaiian Cultural Center; host/producer of "Sigaw!/Shout!", at the "Listen & Be Heard Poetry Cafe" in Vallejo, showcasing Asian Pacific Islander artists; and columnist for the poetry cafe's complementary weekly arts publication. Annabelle was the founding editor/publisher of "Rewind Magazine", a Bay Area club/music magazine and former Executive Editor of "Wushu Kungfu," "Qigong", and "World of Martial Arts" magazines. She is working on her own book project consisting of poems and tales spanning over a 15-year period.
