Ramon Obusan RIP

Just found out from reading Howie Severino's blog that reknowned choreographer Ramon Obusan passed away yesterday at 68.

There are essentially two groups that have shaped the way Philippine folk dance has been performed in the Philippines and abroad: Bayanihan and Ramon Obusan. Much of the choreography you see in Philippine folk dance comes from them in some way. And though I've never met him, I've watched his influence and choreography. He was someone who didn't want to simply copy culture, but to understand its purpose, its soul.
