multiply like bunnies
Amusement for the day: D's gift to herself on her birthday...Swatch's "Bunny Sutra" watch. The face depicts various...um..."happy bunny" positions. Tap the face and the hands will play "spin the bottle" to a recommended position. ahem.
"Hey, Mom, look at my new watch."
"Oh, that's nice! Cute bunnies! What are they doing?" (as mom puts on her glasses for a better look)
(D takes back her watch.) "Oh nothing, Mom, they're just wrestling."
I remember in the 80s how Swatch was the biggest thing on the earth and folks would begbegbegbegbegBEG their parents to buy them a $100+ watch whose plastic colorful wristband would be broke in like a handful of months. Walking through the small Union Square store I recalled how dull watch design had been before Swatch. Swatch was a creative storm compared to what had been there before like the digital black calculator watches. Now, most of the designs just seem blah and everyday, except for maybe the bunnies.
Apparently the design got mad press after they put up an ad in Times Square.
