my precious
Picked up the wedding rings from Ware Designs. They look even better than we had imagined. I was speechless. So happy! We both wanted to just wear them then and there, but I guess we have to wait. Haven't been able to take pictures of them, don't have the proper lens. But here's the description:
Platinum rings. Alibata carved into the sides and filled with gold. A repetition of the alibata symbols "ba", "ha", and "la" three times around the ring. Essentially Bathala, or the word for God. But symbolically looks like a "womb," with a "link" sign, to a "penis," the joining of woman and man. I had written out the alibata on a piece of paper and Steve, the creator of the rings, followed the styling of them on the rings. Each symbol is carved in differently. Engraved on the inside is our wedding date, initials and a heart. Steve, married man himself, told Rhett, "Trust me Rhett, you want your wedding date on the ring."
We described the rings to someone at the cocktail party on Friday. She was like, "That's so cool! I want to have a ring with a penis on it!" Um, yeah, I never thought of it that way really, but okay! Which can't be mistaken for the ring that goes on the penis that Chatty's is offering with the brick.
You can't really see the design right away. You actually have to look closely to see it in the brushed polish. We joked that it's kind of like Frodo's ring ("the Precious") in the Lord of the Rings, how the lettering glows gold and fades away. hehehe. But these rings aren't getting tossed anywhere near the fires of Mount Doom!
Many accolades to Steve at Ware Design who assisted us with the design and with his exquisite craftsmanship made it happen.
