Passed the 300 guest mark this past weekend. Got the final pieces of the wedding favors. My mom started putting those together. Should have those finished by this weekend.
I was feeling like I was going a bit mad Sunday afternoon, so I took the day off today. A mental health day. Was feeling rather worn out from the traveling and not sleeping in my own bed the last couple of weekends. I did laundry. Worked on the wedding video. Rested.
On the frantic list is getting the paperwork done for the church. Official baptism documents especially.
I think we're in good shape. Started working on the seating arrangements. I want to pair up people who know each other, but also mix up the tables a bit. A friend joked I should use a randomizer, make it completely random who sits next to who. That would make for a lot of interesting conversations, but we won't go that far. Any advise on table seating would be greatly appreciated.
My teacher reminds me to think about the future, like plans for next year, next couple of years. His reminder pulls me back a bit, widens the tunnel vision. My body tightens trying to think past the 8th. So many lists and numbers and people. Last minute things.
The timer for the clothes dryer goes off. Time to fold clothes, pay bills, some semblance of a life.

Okay, here are is my seating arrangement advice:
1) This is NOT the time to "mix it up." Mix it up at the rehearsal dinner, but not at the reception! Group your respective friends and family together. They will be so much happier, and it just makes for a better party.
2) We made sure to place a table of my young and extraordinarily beautiful (male and female) cousins right next to the dance floor. Not that Filipinos need much help with this, but they brought consistent energy to the floor, and...let's just face it...it's nice to watch the young and lovely having fun.
3) I'm sure you already know this, but you gotta place the elders, too--and I mean all of 'em--in a good spot. Nobody behind a pillar or anything! (if you need to put someone in a lousy spot, make sure it's someone who wouldn't have spent a lot of time in their seat anyways) They want a 360º view.
3) Miscellaneous: During our first dance, all the very young kids at the wedding sat on their bottoms around the perimeter of the dance floor. For some reason, this was good. It made them feel special which, in turn, kept them from running around and creating scenes during what really should be YOUR time. And it was sweet to have them right there--wasn't too long ago, after all, that you and Rhett were that age!

Now, how do we manage to run around to all the tables to take pictures? Maybe I should change into a pair of running shoes.
