Thanks to Wily, I got to calculate my Walk Score, which of course is catered to semi-urban residential neighborhoods like mine. It only counts if stuff is there. It doesn't say anything about the quality of the stores and activities nearby, but certainly the quality we have is quite high. We do quite a bit of walking around the neighborhood around the weekends especially when the farmer's market is on.

The house I grew up in was a 51 and a location in Las Vegas was a miserable 18, though I was surprised it got that high of a number.

Even my bro-in-law who lives way out where in LA scored a 43. Then again, when it's 90+ degrees out, I'm not sure I would walk anywhere anyway.
