on the menu

Went to the Grand Lake farmer's market this morning for white peaches and nectarines and wanted to buy bread from a San Francisco Bakery that is usually there but was not. Instead bought several brioches from Le Fleur de Lyon and a Duck Rillette from the other French man in the booth right next to him who sells French sausages and pates.

Thus on the menu tonight is dinner French Cafe style:

-salad
-3 kinds of brioche: chicken/spinach, brie, mushroom
-duck rillette
-white bread toast (well, because there were no bread people there this morning)
-2002 Bordeux (a gift from a coworker several years ago)

The brioches were delectable. Our particular favorite, the mushroom one which had an amazing texture and flavor complexity.

Before choosing the duck rillette, I tried another pate and a rabbit sausage, which was light and just ever so slightly meaty. That's a stand you can go every week and try something new because he does have so many products.
