on praying in buildings

spent Saturday, cramming myself and the SO into and out of elevators with well travelled furniture. the evening eating sushi. spent Sunday sitting across the street from church but didn't step foot in it. had good conversation with friends on her mother's porch. got a bit sun burnt her mom enjoys us there, people to cook for, hear our laughter. got reacquainted with an old teacher. spent Monday walking with my uncle and his daughter who will soon move away from home. he misses her already. watched Monsters Inc. in the afternoon. in the evening, travelled across the bay to pray with the family of my ex-boyfriend, whose mother passed away the week before. at one point in my life, i had imagined these people to some day be my family. in many ways, they are. today i went to work. got email of a friend's sudden passing. he left behind a young son. he was taking his son to Marineworld. right now, i'm going to finish up some work and take a walk, talk to trees, listen to birds, say a prayer in the sunlight. maybe tomorrow i will take the day off. pardon me if i take a few days off from being online.
