Ching-In's Last Mango Mic

Ching-In has been the driving force of Mango Mic, originally Asian American Open Mic, that settled on a home at Pusod a couple of years ago. But alas, Boston is calling her home as she takes a position with the organization that sparked her spirit so long ago. Mango Mic/Asian American Open Mic has been voted best Open Mic by Asian Week and by East Bay Express. A large part of that is due to the exquisite host of the Mango Mic evening, Ching-In.

: Ching-In's last Mango Mic ::

Saturday, July 10th
 8-11pm @ Pusod

 Come say goodbye to Mango Mic's host this
 Saturday with a poem, song, rant, rave, or film!

featuring

the band Tensegrity Nine

About the artists:

Tensegrity Nine is the Oakland, CA-based electronic pop duo of Peter Lim and Matt Payne. Peter sits at home next to the rain-drenched windows and writes the words, while Matt bangs on the electronic instruments with a bit more precision than a 2-year old on a fischer price piano. Blending J-pop, acoustic rock, hip hop, experimental noise, children's spiritual, and spoken word poetry, Tensegrity Nine has become locally known as an "anti-genre" band for the new millennium. Their live musical performance is an energetic, humorous, and sometimes poignantly poetic experience that usually involves many, if not all, of the following components: bright flashing lights, Usher-style dancing, banter in Japanese, and yes, even playing music.
