back to the boards

I've been going back to reading newsgroup bulliten boards, mostly regarding martial arts looking to see if I can meet up with a school or two while I'm in Europe this spring. And too, to promote, Kali's Blade, as I'd like to see it travel beyond the poetry market. I've been posting it under "martial arts books/media." It's been a long while since I've gone on message boards, mostly because I found the conversations there dreadfully boring, insulting, or just a whole lot of d**k yanking if you know what I mean.

Then again, that was 1994, when the internet was mostly newsgroups with no images and the web was for porn. In 1994, you never mentioned you were a girl, unless you wanted to feel surrounded by drooling tongues and guys who would put the geeks on "Beauty and the Geek" to shame! haha!

Actually, on a couple of boards, it's still the same. I introduced myself on one board the replies I got were, "Finally, a girl!", "Careful, we don't have too many" in reply to another's potentially drooling post. I really don't mind either way. And if they wanted they could be as macho and machismo as they want to be. It's a newsboard, if you don't like it, don't read it. And so long as they go stalking me or calling me on my personal phone number, I don't really care what people say.

I've posted here and there, but not really getting into most of their threads. I read a few just to understand how most of the other martial artists think.
